I have a long history of being a bad predictor.
I remember having a conversation with one of my best friends on a school bus headed somewhere on a field trip in 1984.
It went something like this:
HIM: All Madonna. All the time.
ME: Flash in the pan. She’ll never last.
HIM: You have to be kidding.
ME: If you want to know who’s going to last in music, it’s going to be Sheena Easton. We’ll be talking about her long after we’ve forgotten about Madonna.
This was about the time I began to choose the wrong Grammy winners, the wrong Academy Award winners, the wrong Star Search winners. I told the same friend The Cosby Show would be canceled six weeks after its debut. I thought New Coke was it.
Rest assured, these college football predictions won’t be accurate either. It’s fun to speculate though, so here goes:
